Tier 1 Tech Support Rep

Our Tier 1 Tech Support representatives are at the front line of our organization, solving problems for the end-user in our 24/7 in-house Network Operations Center. Our flexible hours make this position ideal for tech-savvy college students.
We are currently seeking a part-time to permanent Tier 1 Technical Support Specialist to work in our Network Support Center (NSC) to support our WiFi networks dispersed throughout our national footprint. A successful candidate will be professional, career minded, self-starter who's highly motivated and customer friendly.
Starting pay: $13-15/hr
Hours: 20-25 hrs per week (evenings) Performance based transition into full time after 6 months
Job Description: Successful candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties: trouble shooting user internet connectivity issues, ticket creation, preliminary network analysis and issue isolation, ticket escalations, database updates, customer call backs.
Education and Experience: At least an Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Required Skills: Strong understanding of wireless networking - WiFi -- and its related protocols. Strong understanding of LAN/WAN environments and all associated protocols i.e TCP/IP. Industry certifications a plus - i.e. CompTIA A+ and Network +Highly Proficient with PC repair and configuration. Experienced with PC and MAC operating systems. Excellent communications and organizational skills. Works well with others, team player.
Desired Skills: Strong knowledge of linux operating system. Strong knowledge of Tablets, iPads, iPhones, smart phones and laptops that operate Android, Windows or Apple operating systems. Knowledge of Prontos Networks platform and Operations Support System (OSS)Knowledge of Nagios network monitoring systemsFamiliar with Wifi product vendors -- Engenius, Colubris, Tropos and Ruckus
- Minimum 1 year customer or retail support (either in-person or on the phone).
